Bullet-resistant glass, also known as ballistic glass, and security glass are specific types of laminated glass that have been designed and constructed for maximum strength and impact resistance. As the name suggests, bullet-resistant glass (BRG) is designed specifically to stop projectiles while preventing or controlling the splintering and spalling that occur on the opposite side of the impact to reduce the risk of injury. Similarly, security glass is intended to be strong and stay in one piece when shattered.

How Does it Work?

Ballistic and security glass is made up of layers of strong polycarbonate plastic sandwiched between tempered glass lites with laminating interlayers. When a projectile hits our ballistic glass, the outer glass lites shatter but are held in place by interlayers while the PVB layer stops the projectile from passing through. Depending on the degree of protection required, we can create laminated security glass with the right thickness and composition to meet the challenge.
