The floor at our Los Angeles facility had a few new faces on it this week, as the team from McKernan Inc. came through for a full day of touring, talking, and taking a closer look at how our glass gets made.

Manny Marrujo, our Sr. Estimator & Architectural Sales expert, and Sal Guerra, Glasswerks Architectural Plant Manager, kicked things off with a quick company video before leading the group onto the floor.

“We wanted McKernan Inc. to see more than what’s on our floor — we wanted them to see how everything connects, from the equipment to the people running it.”

Manny and Sal walked the group through the full operation, including our insulating line, the autoclave used for laminated glass, and our jumbo glass line, with stops along the way to see how finished pieces get inspected and handled before they’re packed out.

At each stop, Manny and Sal didn’t just point out what the equipment did. They talked through why it was chosen, what kind of volume and precision it’s built to handle, and how it fits into the bigger picture of running a fabrication plant at this scale. McKernan‘s team lingered at nearly every stop, asking sharp questions along the way.

Real Questions, Real Answers

Our industry friends didn’t hold back. Questions came fast throughout the tour, covering everything from quality checks to turnaround times, and the back-and-forth carried into a working lunch afterward. Conversation stayed just as active over lunch, with both teams trading perspective on where the industry is headed and where their two operations might overlap. By the time the group wrapped up with a final round of questions, both sides had a much clearer picture of where they might team up down the road.

Thanks to McKernan Inc. for taking the time to make the drive and spend the day with us. Days like this one are how good partnerships get built, and we’re looking forward to what comes next.
