Luis Soto is all smiles walking into his surprise retirement luncheon with many Glasswerks friends in attendance.

Dear Luis,

After years of dedicated service, exceptional leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, we gather today to celebrate a remarkable career and bid a fond farewell to someone who has meant so much to the Glasswerks family.

Luis O. Soto’s journey in the glass and manufacturing industry is one built on hard work, expertise, and a genuine passion for the craft. Before joining Glasswerks, Luis made his mark at two pillars of the industry: Downey Glass and Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, where he served as General Manager of their Los Angeles facility. Through those years, he developed a reputation for improving efficiency, driving productivity, and leading teams with both authority and heart.

That experience made him a natural fit for the role of Chief Administrative Officer at Glasswerks, a position he has held with distinction. It was clear from the very beginning that he was more than just an experienced manager. He was a true partner in the company’s vision. As Robert Mastrapa, Vice President of Operations, noted at the time of his hiring, Luis brought industry knowledge, leadership skills, and business acumen that would prove instrumental to Glasswerks’ continued growth and future strategies. Those words proved to be an understatement of what was still to come.

Luis has always believed that the customer comes first. In his own words: “We need to keep the customer foremost in mind in everything we do.” That philosophy guided his work every single day, and it left a lasting impression on everyone around him. He saw what made Glasswerks special: its flexibility, its drive to keep improving, and the can-do culture that runs through every level of the organization, and he helped nurture and strengthen all of it.

Founded in 1980, Glasswerks has built its reputation over decades as a premier supplier of heavy and custom glass throughout the Western United States, Hawaii, and beyond. Luis has been a proud part of that legacy, contributing to a story that is bigger than any one person, yet deeply shaped by the people who give it life.

To Luis: thank you. Thank you for your professionalism, your dedication, and the standard you set for all of us. We wish you a retirement filled with well-deserved rest, family, and every joy you have earned along the way.

Congratulations, Luis. It has been an honor.
